A rare occurrence now in the UK is the promise of a scorching summer but predictions on the weather front have again pointed to a hot summer for us all. Admittedly there have been signs and an indication of more hot weather to come after experiencing higher than normal temperatures over the last month or so.

One thing that we Britons have a habit of doing is not applying enough skin protection when venturing out into hot weather on the rare days that temperatures soar.

If you are out between 11am and 3:30pm in the midday sun, it really is advised to apply a strong sun barrier cream to avoid potentially dangerous exposure to high UV rays that not only can give you uncomfortable burns but are linked to skin cancer and other damaging conditions.

Only taking a few moments to protect you and your family, applying a high factor sun cream and then covering your most vulnerable areas with light clothing are the two most important things to consider.

In really hot conditions as the temperature rises into the late 20’s and into the 30’s, government health officials recommend staying in the shade to limit the risk of dangerous exposure to harmful rays.
